Who are famous explorers in Wyoming?

* John Colter: Colter was a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and is credited with being the first European to explore the Yellowstone region of Wyoming. He returned to the area in 1807 and became the first person to describe the geysers and other thermal features of Yellowstone National Park.

* Jim Bridger: Bridger was a mountain man and explorer who spent much of his life in the Rocky Mountains. He was the first European to cross the South Pass, a low mountain pass that allowed settlers to travel from the Midwest to the Oregon Territory. Bridger also explored the Yellowstone region and was one of the first white men to see the Grand Tetons.
