Would A state in the Oregon territory be allowed to join US as a slave state?

The Oregon Territory was established by the United States government in 1848 and included the present-day states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and parts of Montana and Wyoming. Slavery was prohibited in the Oregon Territory by the Oregon Donation Land Act of 1850, which was passed by the United States Congress. This law stated that any land claims in the territory would be void if the claimant was a slaveholder. Therefore, a state in the Oregon Territory would not have been allowed to join the US as a slave state.
