What Are the Border States of Virginia?

Virginia was the 10th state in the United States of America. It is located along the east coast of the United States midway between New York and Florida. Virginia can be entered from several major highways including U.S. Interstate 95 from the north and south borders of the state and U.S. Interstate 64 from the west.
  1. The District of Columbia

    • Even though the District of Columbia is not a state, Virginia is bordered by the United States capitol. The District of Columbia borders Virginia at the northeastern part of the state.

    Kentucky

    • Kentucky borders Virginia along its most western point.

    Maryland

    • Maryland borders Virginia along the northeastern section of the state that follows the Chesapeake Bay.

    North Carolina

    • Virginia is bordered to the south by North Carolina.

    Tennessee

    • Virginia's southwestern edge is bordered by Tennessee.

    West Virginia

    • West Virginia borders Virginia along its northern central border.
