Como Town (comotown.com) is a four-acre outdoor family fun park that features more than 18 attractions and rides for kids ages two to 12. This fun park features kids rides such as Aladdin's Magic Carpet, family rides like Como Town Tornado and thrill rides like Drop Zone. Visitors can also shop for souvenirs, enjoy various foods, including cotton candy and foot-long hot dogs, and hold birthday parties and corporate gatherings. The park sits next to the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory.
The Cathedral of Saint Paul (cathedralsaintpaul.org) took nine years to build, from 1906 to 1915, and was intended to be the mother church of the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. It has developed into a treasured landmark, a place for meditation and a cultural events venue. Visitors can take in its decorative interior, which is marked by interesting pieces of art, including four big mosaics. Visitors can also take pictures of its copper dome, which reaches 306 feet high.
The Science Museum of Minnesota (smm.org) features an exhibit showcasing the treasures of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun. The museum is known for featuring one-of-a-kind exhibits, along with larger-than-life Omnitheater films. Museum exhibits include "Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs," which showcases 40 royal mummies that all came from one tomb. The museum also features a priceless collection of artifacts from all around the world, including items such as iron nails with square heads and white-ware ceramics. Visitors can also explore Science Live Theater Performances, which feature science demonstrations.
Circus Juventas (circusjuventas.org) is located in Saint Paul's Highland Park. It is a youth performing arts circus that sits on a 21,000-square foot facility. Classes for youth involve training in bungee trapeze, flying, juggling, trampoline, acrobatics and high wire. Students also learn about circus theater, which includes fight choreography, the study of clown antics and ballet and hip-hop dance classes. Students in the advanced program will train four to six hours a week. In May, students put on a recital performance, and in July and August, senior students are featured in a summer production.
