At Ruggeri's, tucked away in The Village at Colleyville, the owner often greets guests personally and live piano music plays in the background. The brick and oak decor is simple, and black tablecloths cover the tables in the dining room. The restaurant has a full bar and serves lunch and dinner during the week but is only open for dinner on weekends. Start with the calamari appetizer for the table. For the main course, traditional fare is offered, including fettuccine Alfredo and manicotti. Try the cioppino, described on the menu as an Italian fisherman's stew consisting of shrimp, scallops, oysters, mussels, clams and fish in a spicy marinara broth. Finish the evening off with a cappuccino and a piece of key lime pie or chocolate mousse cake.
Open since 1991, The Original Joe's Pasta-n-Pizza is a family-run business offering free delivery for to-go orders and complimentary wine and beer for dine-in guests. Baked pasta dishes such as ravioli and ziti are available, as well as salads and several Chef's Specials, including pollo sunrise, chicken sauteed with shallots, sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms topped with garlic butter and wine sauce. Catering is available for off-site parties of 10 to 250 guests with free delivery and setup.
Peter Pagano, owner of Peter's Pizzeria & Italian Cuisine, opened the restaurant in 2008 after moving to Texas from New Jersey. Pagano got his start at 15 years old as a pizza maker at Lenny's Pizzeria in New Jersey. The reasonably-priced menu includes authentic, hand-tossed, New York-style pizzas, calzones and hero sandwiches. Guests will also find pasta dishes such as spaghetti and homemade meatballs, lasagna and cannelloni. For dessert, guests can enjoy the cheesecake.
