Cheap or Free Things to Do Orlando Florida

Orlando, Florida, is most closely associated with Disney World and it is home to several other theme parks like Universal Studios and SeaWorld. Visiting the parks can be expensive, though. Fortunately, Orlando also has some fun things to do at a low cost or even for free.

  1. Central Florida Zoo

    • The Central Florida Zoo features a wide variety of wildlife. Visitors can see everything from elephants to cheetahs to kangaroos. It is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas, and, as of 2009, admission is only $10.95 for adults and $6.95 for children. Children under three get in free. You can buy food at the zoo or save money by bringing your own picnic.

    Lake Eola

    • Lake Eola is a scenic lake and park in downtown Orlando. You can walk around the lake and enjoy the fountain for free, and there are paddle boat rentals and many restaurants in the surrounding area. Lake Eola hosts many special events throughout the year, including concerts. Most events are free and open to the public.

    Kissimmee Monument of States

    • The Kissimmee Monument of States is a roadside attraction in downtown Kissimmee, just outside Orlando. It is made from rocks from every state in America and 21 foreign countries. It originated in 1942 as a symbol of American unity after the Pearl Harbor attack. It has expanded since then, and it was renovated in 2001. There is a lakefront park and many small eateries near the monument.
