The Hollywood Walk of Fame features hundreds of stars with the names of the movie industry's most beloved actors and directors inscribed on them. Every year thousands of tourists flock to Hollywood Boulevard to tour the walk.
The Walk of Fame stretches over 18 blocks. It runs from east to west, starting at Gower Street and finishing at La Brea Avenue. The Walk of Fame is one of Los Angeles' most famed landmarks. Both sides of the street have stars embedded in the sidewalk.
Since there is little else to the Walk of Fame besides blocks of inscribed stars, it is easy to perform your own self-guided tour. Maps are available for sale on the street, or you can print a complete list of stars off the Internet. Simply compile a short list of the stars that you want to see and explore the street.
While there are not any major tours that focus solely on the Walk of Fame, it is often included on Los Angeles sight-seeing tours that also include other landmarks in Hollywood. One of the most popular of these tours is the Hollywood Walk of Fame CityPass, which includes a tour of movie star homes, a behind-the-scenes tour, a trip to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, and either admission to the Hollywood Museum in the historic Max Factor Building or a Kodak Theater tour.
