Hollywood Tram Tours

Hollywood was once considered a movie star playground. The studios were home to some of the nation's biggest stars, and actresses Marlyn Monroe and Judy Garland got their big breaks from the studios. Many studio lots offer tram tours.
  1. Universal Studios Back Lot Tour

    • The Universal Studios tram tour is located inside the Universal Studios theme park. The Back Lot Tour is half studio tour, half thrilling ride. You will be taken on a tram tour through lots where TV shows and films are taped. You will see sets from the Michael J. Fox hit "Back to the Future." Be prepared to get a little wet. At one stop along the tour, guests will come face to face with a mechanical shark similar to the one used in the filming of "JAWS."

    Paramount Studio Tour

    • Hollywood was once the location of major studios, where glamorous movie stars showed up to work. On the Paramount VIP tour, guests will not only see where movie and TV shows are filmed, but get a first hand look at sets from some of the nation's most celebrated films. Tours last two hours and run Monday through Friday. The tour costs $40 per person, as of 2010.

    Warner Brothers Studio Lot Tour

    • This two hour and 25 minute tram tour through the streets of the back lot will take you near sound stages and sets. Each tour is different, since tour guides take guests to areas where filming is actually taking place. You will have the opportunity to walk onto a real set, learn about special effects, set construction and costumes. The tour is for ages 8 and up.
