Tours in Salem, MA

One of the darkest chapters of colonial history, indeed, of American history, was the Salem Witch Trials. In 1692, mass hysteria about witchcraft swept through the town of Salem, Massachusetts, leading to the trial and execution of 20 people, along with more than 100 others who were convicted and not executed. Visitors can explore this dark history by taking a guided tour of Salem.
  1. Fame of Salem

    • For people who like sailing, or being out on the water, a trip on the Fame of Salem would be ideal. The ship is a full-scale replica of a privateer from the War of 1812, and takes passengers on one- hour and 45-minute tours of Salem Sound from May through October. During the tour, passengers will learn about the maritime history of Salem, including fishermen, privateers and pirates.
