Las Vegas Vacation Guide

While Las Vegas used to be a more family-oriented vacation spot, the city has evolved into an adult playground. Visitors can enjoy poolside fun during the day when weather permits, and there is no shortage of opportunities for fun during the evening hours.

  1. Nightlife

    • The nightlife in Las Vegas is quite versatile. Visitors staying on The Strip can enjoy trendy nightclubs, including The Venitian's Tao, which has a rooftop level and multiple dance floors. Musical artists also rotate throughout Las Vegas, often setting up shop in a hotel for a matter of months or years--Las Vegas casinos have hosted artists that include Barry Manilow and Celine Dion. Theatrical shows, such as Cirque du Soleil, are also offered at many venues in the city.

    Gambling

    • Visitors to Las Vegas won't have to look far to find opportunities for gambling--there are slot machines right at the airport. Most hotels on The Strip offer on-site casinos, which are open to both guests and non-guests. Table games and slot machines, as well as sports books are offered throughout the city.

    Outdoors

    • Sporty visitors can enjoy a variety of opportunities for activity in the Las Vegas area. Red Rock Canyon is just 15 miles west of the city and affords hiking trails and rock climbing. Las Vegas and the surrounding area is also home to upwards of 50 golf courses, many of them open to the public.
