  1. Anna Ruby Falls

    • Hike up to the base of the Anna Ruby twin waterfalls, lying at the heart of Chattahoochee National Forest. This is a moderate 0.4 mile hike on a paved trail, offering glimpses of the Chattahoochee river and several species of trees, shrubs and flowers. Stop to read about them as you hike up. The trail leads up to a deck from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the twin falls gushing over the rough cliff. If you prefer a more challenging trek, take the 4.6 mile long Smith Creek trail.

    Tubing

    • Tubing is one of the most relaxing ways to enjoy the Chattahoochee river that runs through the scenic town of Helen. As you drive through town you will see many tubing companies and their shuttles hauling the bright tubes up the river to the drop-off points. One of them is Cool River Tubing. They offer two different lengths of rides, a shorter hour long ride and a longer two hour ride. Take their shuttle and get off at the appropriate point and enjoy an hour or two of just floating down the Chattahoochee. Remember to keep your valuables, camera and cell phone behind, unless they're all water-proof.
