\"Georgia's Alpine Village\" is what people often call this little German influenced town. Helen developed itself as a replica alpine village through design influences on every building and limiting franchised businesses. Hot-air balloon races, an Oktoberfest celebration and other festivals bring visitors here throughout the year. When visiting Helen, visitors can tour one of these other attractions located in this town.
Charlemagne's Kingdom is an Alpine Model Railroad Museum. The museum duplicates the Alpine theme of Helen by depicting Germany's landscape, bridges and autobahn along with sites often found in Helen such as hot air balloons, carnival rides and circus tents. Hundreds of feet of model railroad track make up this detailed museum. Another attraction at the museum is a glockenspiel in a gingerbread house with wooden carved dancers who march and dance to German music three times a day.
