Helen, Georgia, a quaint town in northern Georgia, is home to a number of attractions. Located in the heart of the north Georgia mountains, the town holds events throughout the year that are of interest to tourists and locals alike. Even in the cold month of January, the town draws visitors to take in all that the Helen area has to offer.
Helen, Georgia is home to the annual Fireside Arts and Crafts Show, which is typically held in late January. The Fireside Arts and Crafts Show offers a vast display of artwork and homemade crafts created through the talents of local and regional artists. Vendor booth contain offerings such as original paintings, pottery, gift baskets and jewelry. The Fireside Arts and Crafts Show is traditionally held at the Unicoi State Park and Lodge, however, location is subject to change. The Fireside Arts and Crafts Show celebrated its 35th year of operations in 2010. As of August 2010, there was no cost for admission to the event.

Only five miles outside Helen city limits is Cleveland, Georgia, home to Babyland General Hospital. The facility, a museum and home to the original Cabbage Patch Kids, features a nursery filled with newly born Cabbage Patch babies. Visitors can even bear witness as a Cabbage Patch Kid doll is "born" from a cabbage. Babyland General Hospital also features an on site gift shop for visitors who wish to adopt their very own Cabbage Patch Kid to take home with them.

Located in downtown Helen, on the south end of Main Street, is Helen Alpine Mini Golf Village. An old fashioned mini golf course, Helen Alpine Mini Golf Village is open year round and offers an 18 hole course as well as an on site ice cream parlor. In the colder winter months of January and February, the park is open to golfers of all ages as long as weather is permitting. It is wise, however, to call ahead during inclement weather to verify whether or not the facility will open. As of August 2010, the cost of admission to the Helen Alpine Mini Golf Village was $7.50 per adult and $5.50 for children 12 and under.
