New York City Tours From Newark

New York is a mammoth city with plenty of attractions, shops and places to stop and eat. Guided tours are a great way to cover as much as possible in very little time. Visitors to and residents of Newark can take advantage of a number of coach trips that either travel directly to New York City, or stop in Manhattan where passengers can hop on one of the city's many sightseeing buses.

    Double Decker Bus Tour

    • Trusted Tours offers a classic experience with an open-top double-decker bus tour of all the major sights: Greenwich Village, Central Park, SoHo, Brooklyn Bridge, just to name a few. It is possible to stop off at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 5th Avenue, the Empire State Building and the South Street Seaport Museum. Tickets to the latter two are included in the cost of the tour. Transportation to and from Newark is paid for separately, but shuttles to Manhattan start from $19.     Manhattan

    • Gray Line provides a shuttle service running every 15 to 30 minutes between Newark Airport and Manhattan. The Manhattan Comprehensive tour covers the entire area, taking in Greenwich Village, Madison Square Garden, Battery Park, 5th Avenue and Central Park, among others. The tour is roughly eight and a half hours long, and a professional tour guide explains all the sights to travelers. Stops are made to the Top of the Rock observatory, which offers panoramic views over the city and Grotto Azzurra, where lunch is provided. Both of these stops are included in the price, which is $84 for adults and $58 for children, as of October 2010.
