New York City Bus Tours From North Carolina

Traveling to New York City from North Carolina can be an expensive proposition. Bus tours are an affordable option, and there are packages to delight the theater buff, the baseball fan, the shopaholic and children of all ages dazzled by the lights during the holiday season. These guided tours are a great option if you are traveling with a small group, or even by yourself. Larger groups might be able to save money by chartering their own bus.

  1. Holiday Tours

    • Holiday Tours offers trips to New York City throughout the year. Prices range from $649 to $1299 and depend on the time of the year, the length of the trip, which guided tours are offered and the accommodations. Most of the trips last from three to five days. Several of the tours offer lodging in New Jersey to keep the prices in check. In the summer, there is a tour that includes a New York Yankees Major League Baseball game. Tours during the winter holiday season are particularly popular. A Christmas "special" includes a ticket to see the world-famous Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.

    Christian Tours

    • Christian Tours offers 20 different tours to The Big Apple, including a "Mother, Daughter, Girlfriend Getaway," an "East Coast Baseball Fling" and a "Theater Spectacular." Its "New York Holiday and Miracle of Christmas" tour last five days, and combines the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and the Radio City Music Hall spectacular with an overnight visit to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. There are more than a dozen different departure sites, and all tours last at least three days. Prices range from under $700 to $1,600, depending on the package.

    Gray Line New York

    • If you are traveling with a large group, another option is to charter your own bus through Gray Line. You will need at least 55 passengers to fill the coach bus, but the company will arrange for the bus to pick up your group in the city of your choice. Prices, for the bus only, range from $925 to $1,100 for a one-way trip, depending on the day of the week. You can pay separately for a tour guide, and you will have to make all your own accommodations.
