Houston, Texas, the fourth largest city in the United States, according to Visit Houston Texas, offers the best of the city and the country. Not only is Houston the hometown of super star Beyonce Knowles, it is also home to many famous sites and tourist attractions. From its busy downtown, to its lazy bayous, Houston has something for everyone.

  1. NASA Johnson Space Center

    • The NASA Johnson Space Center offers in-depth tours where participants can explore and learn the history of NASA. The NASA Tram Tour takes visitors on an up-close and personal behind-the-scenes journey through the Johnson Space Center. Visitors can see sites, such as the Mission Control Center, Vehicle Mock-up Facility and the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory. Guest may even catch a glimpse of real astronauts preparing for their next mission. The center is open on week days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    The Houston Galleria

    • The Houston Galleria is much more than a mall. Since its expansion in 2003, the Galleria is now home to over 375 stores, including Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Cartier and Louis Vutton. The mall also houses an impressive ice skating rink and two Westin Hotels. As if that weren't enough, the stunning architecture of this shopping oasis is a must-see. It features glass atriums, suspended glass balconies, nine types of stone and plush leather seats. With 2.4 million square feet of retail space, the Houston Galleria could easily be considered a city all by itself.

    Houston Rodeo

    • The Houston Rodeo is a 20-day long rodeo extravaganza. It is held at Reliant Park and features parades, bull rides, BBQ, carnival rides and concerts. Many celebrities have performed at the Houston Rodeo including Tim McGraw, the Jonas Brothers and even the king himself, Elvis Presley. The rodeo also features a livestock exhibition, cattle auctions and cattle judging.
