The twelfth largest lake in the world, Lake Erie borders the province of Ontario in Canada and the four states of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan in the United States. As the shallowest and warmest of all the five Great Lakes, Lake Erie is a popular summer vacation destination, with dozens of cabin resorts near the water in both countries. Although many cabin resorts offer easy access to the water activities available on Lake Erie, only a handful have accommodations right on the waterfront.

Just four miles from Erie Bluffs State Park, the Lakefront Cottages at Virginia’s Beach are located near an assortment of entertainment venues, including two golf courses and the Lake Erie Speedway. Several cities filled with a wide range of attractions lie within a two-hour drive of Virginia’s Beach, including Niagara Falls, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Erie. Located in Lake Erie’s western basin, the Ohio island of Put-in-Bay has been a summer resort since the 1800s.
