The Breakers Hotel is more than 100 years old. Originally it was a French Chateau style hotel. The hotel was designated a National Historic Landmark on March 9, 1987. Since then, so much renovation was done that the exterior no longer had its original look, and the designation was withdrawn on Aug. 7, 2001.
The Breakers Hotel has 650 rooms and suites and is 100 percent non-smoking. The family suites are all decorated in a Peanuts theme. Rooms on the concierge level have access to a lounge area.
