Although much of the lodging near beaches in South Florida consists of resorts and hotels, visitors can also find resorts that are designed to accommodate RVs. In addition to providing affordable prices, these resorts often feature amenities, such as swimming pools, hot tubs and tennis courts. The RV sites also have cable, sewer and electric hook-ups.
The Gulf Waters RV Resort in Fort Myers Beach provides is a short drive from beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and is within walking distance of various restaurants, grocery stores and pharmacies. Sanibel and Captiva Islands are six miles from the resort, which is also close to the homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford on the Caloosahatchee River. Amenities at the resort include large lakefront sites, a 5,000-square foot clubhouse, a heated pool and spa, laundry and shower facilities, and planned amenities. It also has a poolside tiki bar, tennis court and horseshoes pits. The RV sites are full hook-ups with 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric connections. The RV sites also have cable TV hook-ups. Activities include pot luck dinners, shuffleboard and horseshoe tournaments, and live entertainment. A trolley that goes to the beach is near the resort.

The NorthCoast Park and Marina is outside the city of Fort Lauderdale on Florida's East Coast. Attractions within five miles of the resort include a casino, beaches in Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, a jai alai arena, fishing charters, golf courses, malls and stores, and the Fort Lauderdale International Airport. Many major highways and interstates are also five miles or less away. The NorthCoast Park and Marina has 35 paved RV sites that are full hook-ups with either 20, 30- or 50-amp electric service. The sites also have private tiki huts and concrete patios. Located in the park are a dump station, laundry facilities and boat docks at its marina. The sites are large enough to accommodate big rigs.

The Fort Myers/Pine Island KOA is situated on the eastern side of Pine Island and west of the city of Fort Myers on the Southwestern Florida coast. RV sites are available along the water on a property with two clubhouses, a heated swimming pool, a hot tub and a tennis court with lights. The RV sites are full hook-ups with 50-amp electric available. Each site also comes with free cable TV, Additional facilities include a computer room, a playground for children, horseshoe pits, a pool table in its clubhouse, cabins with air conditioning, and a fully stocked on-site store. Campers can also opt to stay in park-model RVs. Another feature at this KOA is its air-conditioned bus that takes campers to beaches, shopping malls and stores from December through April. It has 380 RV sites, nine cabins and four park models in all.
