In Biscayne National Park, tent camping is allowed in Elliot Key and Boca Chita Key. Boca Chita Key features waterside and grassy camp sites. Elliott Key has waterside and forested camp sites. Picnic tables and grills are found in both campsites. Although toilets are available in Boca Chita Key, sinks, showers and drinking water are not. However, you will find restrooms with sinks and cold water showers in Elliott Key and drinking water is available on the island. Enjoy boating, snorkeling, hiking on trails and watching wildlife. The campgrounds may be accessed by private boats all year, but free access by boat is only offered during the winter and spring.
Apollo Beach in Canaveral National Seashore has two beach-camping sites where you can pitch a tent right on the beach. You must make a reservation to use the campsite, which is open from November 1 through mid-April. Restrooms are within walking distance of the campsites. If you have your own own boat, canoe, or kayak, you can go camping in natural island campsites. A reservation and permit, however, are required to camp in these campsites. Activities include fishing, boating, canoeing, surfing, sunbathing, swimming and hiking on nature and historical trails. Permits may be obtained from the Visitor Center and a fee is charged to camp in the park.
Red Coconut RV Resort, located in Southwest Florida's Gulf Coast, is situated directly on the beach. Grayton Beach State Park in Northwest Florida is open from November through April and features modern cabins and a full-facility, 34-site campground, some with sites that overlook Western Lake. The campground is divided into two sections -- one with sites among trees and shrubs and with water, electricity and a restroom with hot showers, and the other with 50-amp electric service and an on-site sewer hookup. RV and tent camping is allowed in this pet-friendly park. Year-round, soak in the sun while swimming, sunbathing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, wildlife viewing and hiking or biking on trails.
