Campgrounds Near the Gulf in Florida

To enjoy spectacular sunsets and beautiful pristine beaches, stay in one of the campgrounds along the Gulf of Mexico in Florida. Whether these campgrounds are on the beach or slightly inland, they all offer excellent outdoor recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, beach combing and swimming. Find both private and state-operated campgrounds near the Gulf of Mexico.
  1. St. Andrew's State Park

    • Situated on the Florida Panhandle, St. Andrew's State Park is a former military reservation with 1.5 miles of sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico and Grand Lagoon. Visitors enjoy swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving and boating at a park with two fishing piers, a jetty and a boat ramp. It also has two nature trails, picnic pavilions and fully developed campsites to go along with a primitive youth camping area. St. Andrew's has two campground loops with a combined 176 sites that all come with electric and water hook-ups as well as picnic tables and grills. Find dump stations, five bathrooms with showers and a laundry facility at the campground. A concession store sells snacks, souvenirs and fishing supplies.

    Koreshan State Historic Site

    • The Koreshan State Historic Site is located slightly inland from the Gulf of Mexico in the southwestern part of Florida. Amenities include a boat ramp and canoe rentals along with campfire programs on Saturday nights from January through March. The Koreshan State Historic Site has 60 camping sites that all come with electric, water and a picnic table. Of those 60 sites, 12 are designated as tent camping only and are situated along the Estero River. Find firewood and ice at the ranger station, while a picnic area is a short walk from the campground. Additional amenities include a playground for kids, a laundry room with sinks, a volleyball court and restrooms. The park features fishing spots, including Estero Bay, which is three miles away by canoe and part of the Gulf of Mexico.

    Navarre Beach Campground

    • A five-minute drive from the Gulf of Mexico, the Navarre Beach Campground features white sandy beaches along the Santa Rosa Sound on the state's panhandle. Guests can opt to stay in cabins or on one of its 135 RV sites that come with water, sewer and electric connections of 20-, 30- or 50 amps. The campsites, which also have free cable TV, come with patios and picnic tables. On-site amenities include a propane filling station, a security gate, restrooms, showers and two laundry rooms. Recreational items include a heated pool and hot tub, a playground for children, a game room, a shuffleboard court, a fitness center, a fishing pier and a recreation hall with a kitchen that can accommodate large groups. A fully stocked store and free wireless Internet are also on the property.
