This lesser known cousin to Pensacola Beach is located at the eastern end of Santa Rosa Island. Campers looking for a broad selection of restaurants, clubs, and shopping, would do good to look elsewhere. Navarre Beach is a tiny community with one convenience store and one restaurant. However, if you are into mile after mile of Caribbean-quality white sand beaches and nights spent beneath a canopy of stars and hardly a streetlight to spoil the view, Navarre Beach Campground might be right up your alley. A basic RV site runs $45 nightly, while a beachfront ultra site with deck is $89. Basic cabins are available for $59 nightly, though a water view cabin runs $119.

Anastasia State Park is an interesting combination of history and natural beauty. This 1,600 acre park is located in St. Augustine, America's oldest city, and features four miles of Atlantic Ocean beachfront. Reserve America rated the park No. 6 on its list of 100 Top Family Campgrounds. Anastasia begins just below Jacksonville in the northeastern part of Florida. Campers enjoy beach-combing, swimming, fishing, windsurfing, hiking, boating, wildlife, and more. All 139 camp sites are located within an easy walk to the beach. Cost is $28 nightly, which includes water and electricity. As with all popular Florida camping destinations, especially state parks, making reservations well in advance is a good idea.

This 500-acre tropical paradise nestled in the lower Florida Keys was named Best Beach in America by Dr. Beach in 1992. Approximately 30 miles removed from the madness and revelry that is Key West, Bahia Honda attracts campers eager to partake of water activities in a pristine, quiet environment. Bahia Honda State Park is the exception to the rule that the Keys don't have great beaches. This 500 acre park's shoreline could compete with any in Florida, which is probably why it's so popular with campers. A total of 80 tent and RV camping sites are available but you should consider making your reservations as much as six months in advance.
