Campgrounds near Leakey, Texas

The town of Leakey is situated in Uvalde County, at the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The area's many natural features of the Frio, Nueces and Sabinal Rivers as well as Garner State Park and Devils Sinkhole draw outdoor enthusiasts to the area from all over Texas.     • Visit Andy's on River Road for a campground with a variety of accommodations and activities, just 17 minutes outside Leakey. Garner State Park, Alamo Village as well as a number of golf courses can be found within an hour's drive. Guests enjoy a range of amenities including beach volleyball, a restaurant, fishing, horse shoes, tube and kayak rentals, and a gift shop. Each campsite comes with a picnic table, fire-ring, grill and water and electric service with restrooms located just steps away.

    Garner State Park

    • Garner State Park encompasses over 1,400 acres in northern Uvalde County, about 10 minutes from the center of Leakey. Every year the park draws thousands of visitors for the pristine waters of the Frio River, numerous hiking and biking trails and abundant wildlife. Other nearby attractions of Devil's Sinkhole State Natural Area, John Nance "Cactus Jack" Garner Museum and ruins of a historic mission and cavalry post are within easy reach. A range of campsites are available from primitive sites with no hookups to premium sites with water and electric services.

    Big Oak River Camp

    • Enjoy the Big Oak River Camp set along the nearby Nueces River, found about 25 minutes from Leakey in the town of Camp Wood. Area attractions that are found within an hour's drive include antique shopping, the Devils Sinkhole and Kickapoo Casino. Each of the sites feature shaded cover, electricity and water hookup as well as a picnic table, barbecue pit and a fire-ring. A camp store, playground, basketball court, and fishing, tubing and swimming in the adjacent river keep guests entertained.
