Campgrounds near Belton, Texas

Located in Bell County, Belton, Texas is approximately 55 miles northeast of Austin and 130 miles southwest of Dallas. For tourists, the town is home to numerous attractions, such as the Bell County Museum, the Nolan Creek Hike and Bike Trail and Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area. Visitors to Belton have a variety of accommodations to choose from, including public and private campgrounds.
  1. Belton-Temple-Killeen KOA

    • A privately-owned facility, the Belton-Temple-Killeen KOA offers two, one-bedroom cabins, four spaces for camping in tents and 47 gravel recreational vehicle campsites. All of the RV sites feature a layout that allows campers to pull their vehicles into the spaces rather than having to back the vehicle into the lot. The largest sites can accommodate vehicles up to 80 feet in length, and 39 have full electric, water and sewage hookups. The remaining sites provide only electric and water, but a waste dump is located on the property. Campers can access wireless Internet anywhere in the campground for an added fee. For guests' convenience, the KOA supplies restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a public phone and an onsite store that sells basic groceries, propane and RV supplies. Recreational facilities at the campground include an in-ground pool, an enclosed game-room, horseshoe pits and a children's playground.

    Live Oak Ridge Park

    • Located along Belton Lake, public Live Oak Ridge Park features 48 campsites for camping in tents or recreational vehicles. Each spot has electric and water hookups with free wireless Internet available. A dump station is onsite for waste disposal. The campground offers picnic facilities, restrooms, showers, access to drinking water and laundry facilities. Belton Lake is a popular spot for fishing, boating and waterskiing, and a launch is adjacent to the campground for access to the water. Hiking trails wind through the park, young campers can enjoy the park's playground. Reservations are required at least two days prior to arriving at the park. A two-night minimum stay is required on weekends, and a three-night minimum is enforced for holiday weekends.

    Cedar Ridge Park

    • Located in Temple, Texas, Cedar Ridge Park is approximately 12 miles (22 minutes by car) from Belton. The public park has eight screened cabins and 68 paved recreational vehicle lots with electric and water hookups. Onsite amenities include restrooms, showers, a dump station, portable water, and laundry facilities. The park is located along Belton Lake and features a dock for fishing, a marina for boating and a beach area for swimming. Nature trails, picnic facilities, a playground and basketball courts are also available for campers' use. Like Live Oak Ridge Park, two-days' notice is required for reservations and two and three-day minimum stays are required for weekend and holiday weekend stays, respectively.
