Campgrounds in Waco, Texas

Waco is a large city in central Texas, situated south of Dallas and northwest of Houston. According to city-data.com, it had a population of 124,009 in 2008. Waco is the home of several museums, including the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. There is also a water park in town and plenty of hiking, fishing, swimming and camping options for outdoor enthusiasts. Campgrounds can be found just outside of the Waco city limits.
  1. Brazos River RV Park

    • The Brazos River RV Park is located several miles north of Waco and sits on the banks of the Brazos River. The park has a large clubhouse and 42 campsites, 34 of which have sewer, water and electricity. Some of the these are pull-throughs and there are also sites for tents. The grounds have a dump station, picnic pavilion, barbecue pit, showers and a restroom. Swimming and fishing are two of the biggest recreational activities in the park. The park is open year-round and offers weekly and monthly rates.

    Riverview Campground

    • The Riverview Campground just outside of Waco has both shady and sunny campsites. There are 127 sites, including 68 for RVs. Most of the RV sites are pull-throughs and have either 30- or 50-amp electric service. On the grounds are large and small clubhouses, Internet access and laundry facilities. Fishing is available across the street and the campground has access to a river and a boat launch. Guests receive free peaches. Additional recreational options nearby include golf, a water park and water skiing.

    Quail Crossing RV Park

    • Guests at Quail Crossing RV Park, which is 12 miles from Waco in the town of Woodway, can stay on RV sites or in cabins that are equipped with bathrooms, refrigerators and microwaves. Amenities include free fishing in a private pond that is stocked, an above-ground swimming pool and a driving range. Rock hunting and bird watching are two other popular activities for guests. The RV sites are pull-throughs with 20/30/50 amp electric, sewer, water, cable TV and wireless Internet. Some of the sites also have picnic tables. The park is located in a quiet, rural area and consists of 20 acres.
