The 5 Star property was developed in 2004 on 20 acres of land that is close to local antique malls, restaurants, a medical center and shopping. The RV park purchases renewable energy to power its RV sites. All 25 sites have full-utility hookups with 20-, 30- or 50-amp electrical connections, as well as cable television. Pads are 75 feet long and 30 feet wide, and rates start at $28 per night.

All of ABC RV Park's sites have full hookups with 30- or 50-amp power, and you can rent one for as little as $20. Additional savings are possible with the park's senior discount. Kampgrounds of America (KOA) is a large network of RV parks spread throughout the U.S. that offer various amenities at reasonable prices. In Abilene, the KOA features paved roads and 50-amp RV sites that will accommodate rigs as long as 90 feet. The campground is located in a pecan grove near Interstate 20 and State Highway 277. The Abilene KOA features cable television and free wireless Internet access. The amenities at the campground include a seasonal swimming pool, children's playground, horseshoe pits, billiards and ping pong, all for around $35 per night. Just off the property are several other options for recreation, including five nearby golf courses, a public tennis court, two bowling alleys and a drag strip.
