Trade Days are three days a month, Friday, Saturday and Sunday following the first Monday. The Flea market has 100 RV sites for vendors and customers, with full hook-ups and spaces for tents. Larry's offers heated bathrooms with showers. The site has sensible but strict rules governing vendors and customers. Situated in Winnie, this location is convenient for Big Thicket National Preserve and the Anahuac, McFaddin and Texas Point National Wildlife Refuges.
Hurricanes have left the camping facilities at Sea Rim State Park primitive, although plans and funding exist to replace water and electricity supplies. Meanwhile you are expected to be self sufficient, taking your own fresh water and lights with batteries. Close to the campground is a boardwalk trail through the marshes, swimming in the Gulf of Mexico and 5 miles of open beach. The Marshlands Unit is accessible by boat but no camping or swimming is permitted there because of alligators.
An RV park with tent camping, Turtle Bayou offers flushing toilets, hot showers and free wireless Internet. Laundry, public phone and convenience store make this a good place to stay after you have roughed it at Sea Rim State Park. The park is named for the waterway that almost encircles it and there are rowboats and canoes for rent and fishing in the pond and bayou. Turtle Bayou Park is open all year. Pets are welcome.
