The Mesa Spirit RV Resort allows RVs only, and offers 1,800 spaces with full hook-ups. Pets are welcome. Amenities include fitness equipment, a computer lab with high-speed Internet, heated pools and spas, outdoor sports areas and long-term rental options. Mesa-Apache Junction KOA offers both RV and tent camping sites with 50-amp service and pull-through sites for RVs up to 60 feet. Amenities include a heated pool, a hot tub, free wireless Internet and meeting rooms. Nearby, visitors can drive the 145-mile Apache Trail loop or visit cliff-dweller ruins. Phoenix is 30 miles from the campground.

The Tortilla Campground is in the Tonto National Forest. The campground is open October through April and offers about 70 combination RV and tent campsites. Each site is about 39 by 37 feet with sewer hook-ups but no electricity. Restrooms are onsite. This campsite is heavily wooded and is a choice for campers who like a primitive setting.
