Campgrounds Near the Grand Canyon in Arizona

The second most popular national park in the country, the Grand Canyon annually draws well over 4 million visitors a year. Because of the size of the Grand Canyon National Park, to find a campground within 30 miles of the canyon itself, you need to stay in the national park. The campgrounds are located near both the North and South rims of the canyon and are generally primitive in terms of amenities.
  1. Desert View Campground

The nearest shower facilities are 26 miles away at the Mather Campground in Grand Canyon Village. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash. The campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are usually full by early in the afternoon in the summer.
