The Deschutes National Forest allows dispersed camping away from developed campgrounds. Dispersed camping means no toilets, drinking water and no fire grates are provided. Many people drive out on Forest Service roads and pitch their tent in a clearing or on a spot near a stream or with a view of the mountains. Pack out what you pack in and leave the area better than how you found it.
