Topsail Campgrounds in Florida

Camping in the area of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in the Florida panhandle is popular throughout the year. During colder winter months the area sees a good number of "snowbirds" from more northern states visiting in their recreational vehicles. Residents from the nearby states of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee are also regular vacationers to this area of the Gulf Coast. Campgrounds fill up quickly and reservations of up to a year in advance are sometimes required to insure yourself a spot.
  1. Camping at Topsail Hill Preserve

    • The Gregory E Moore RV Resort is the only campground located at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The 156-site resort features a number of amenities, such as a heated swimming pool, electrical and cable TV hook ups, sewer, water, tennis courts and other recreational facilities. There are trails that run to the beach as well as a tram campers can ride.

    Camping East of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

    • Located about 8 miles east of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is Grayton Beach State Park. There are 34 sites at the campground. Not all sites have electrical and sewer hookups. As well as being close to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Grayton Beach State Park is popular with swimmers and sun bathers. There is also a brackish lake that is good for exploring by either canoe or kayak.

      Another choice on the eastern side of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is Peach Creek RV Park. This is one of the smaller campgrounds in the area with only 14 sites. They have full hookups, pull-through sites, an onsite laundry, shower facilities and access to the water. Although the campground isn't large, Peach Creek RV Park is the closet private campground to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, located just about a mile down U.S. Highway 98.

    Camping West of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

    • There are a few larger campgrounds slightly less than six miles west of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park just off of U.S. Highway 98.

      The first campground you'll find traveling west from Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is Camping On the Gulf Holiday. There are about 225 RV campsites at the park. The facility boasts a large heated pool which is domed in the winter. As well as the regular water, electrical and sewage hookup there is wi-fi access and some sites have cable TV.

      Geronimo RV Resort and Destin RV Beach Resort are located close to one another about five and a half miles from Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Geronimo RV Resort has 29 spots for RVs. Sites come with full hookups including cable TV and wi-fi is available throughout the park. The beach is only two blocks away.

      About the same distance as Geronimo RV Resort from both the beach and Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is Destin RV Beach Resort. Sites at this resort are both rented and sold so make sure you call ahead for availability. Amenities include a heated pool, laundry, full hookups, cable TV, and wi-fi.
