State of California Campgrounds

From the ancient Redwood forests in the north to its sunny southern beaches, California is an ideal destination for a camping vacation. Known as the "Golden State," California boasts several natural attractions such as Lake Shasta Caverns, the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve and the Santa Monica Mountains. Campers can find many campgrounds throughout the state that are managed by the California government. These parks offer a wider range of recreational opportunities and tend to be larger than privately-owned campgrounds.
