Campgrounds in Fresno, California

Fresno, California is a major city in California's Central Valley, a good stopping-point for shopping, visiting students at Fresno State University, or for taking tours of the Valley itself. The city of Fresno has a fairground with RV parking, along with several RV parks, campgrounds and combined RV/mobile home parks. A little farther afield, lakeside camping is available thanks to the California State Parks system. Campers can use Fresno as a base for exploring Yosemite National Park without paying the premium rates of closer accommodations.
  1. Big Fresno Fair RV Campground

    • Fresno Fairgrounds has an RV park with night security for visitors. The spots feature full or partial hookups with 15- or 50-amp service, arranged in a parking lot style area. There is no separate dump station. Large groups can reserve, but otherwise camping here is strictly first-come, first-served. Visitors should call ahead to check availability, especially when there is an event being held at the fairgrounds.

    Blackstone North RV Park

    • Situated in the City of Fresno itself, Blackstone North features 96 spaces up to 70-feet long with some pull-throughs. On-site can be found a laundry room and bathroom blocks. Amenities for this Fresno campground include Wi-Fi Internet, 30 or 50 amp electricity, and even cable TV. The park is also a member of Fresno's Chamber of Commerce. There are daily and weekly rates, but to stay for a month you must first apply for residency. Tent camping is allowed here.

    New Horizons Mobile/RV Park

    • As the name suggests, this is a combined mobile home park and RV campground located near State Highway 99 in Fresno. The park has shade trees, a pool, full hookups and an on-site laundry with a large central lawn. Wi-Fi is available and the electrical service is 20, 30 or 50 amps. For the kids, there is a recreation room and horseshoes pit, and a club room is available for events. There are daily and weekly rates, but a three-month stay is required to get the monthly rate. There are 64 sites in this Fresno campground and the permanent and RV sections are kept separate.

    Millerton Lake State Recreation Area

    • For those who prefer a more rural stay, Millerton Lake SRA is the closest state park camping to Fresno, 20 miles northeast of town. Millerton Lake is a reservoir created by Friant Dam. The campground can accommodate trailers or RVs up to 36-feet long. Visitors can swim, use the lake for boating and other water sports, and enjoy wildlife such as golden eagles and mule deer. There are 148 sites in two distinct sections along the lake's north shore, and 27 sites have partial hookups. A separate dump station and several restrooms are available at Millerton Lake SRA.
