Campgrounds Near Livermore, California

Livermore is a historical city in central California. Livermore has more than 40 wineries and has been the home of the Livermore Rodeo, dubbed the "World's Fastest Rodeo," since 1918. The area has diverse terrain, providing many opportunities for recreation, sightseeing and relaxation. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Livermore Area Recreation and Parks District provides many campgrounds for overnight accommodations.
  1. Del Valle Regional Park

    • Del Valle Regional Park campground is in a valley framed by oak-covered hills in southern Livermore. The campground has 150 campsites--129 drive-in sites with water, sewage and electrical hookups, and 21 rustic sites with water and sewage hookups. Each site features a grassy area with picnic table and a fire ring. The campground features such amenities as bathroom and shower houses, a camp store and sewage disposal. Centerpieces of the 5,000-acre park include a five-mile-long lake, the Rocky Ridge Visitor Center and museum, two swimming beaches, a public boat launch and more than 50 miles of hiking, horseback and bicycling trails.

    Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area

    • Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area is in the hills of southern Livermore. With 1,500 acres of riding area ranging from steep canyons to rolling hills, the park is popular with off-road enthusiasts of all skill levels. The campground has 23 primitive campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. The campground has a Ramada, restroom and coin-operated showers. The park does not have a water-filling station nor a waste-dump station. The park's centerpiece is its riding facility, which features four racing tracks designated for motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles. The park provides many opportunities for hiking and sightseeing.

    Anthony Chabot Regional Park

    • Anthony Chabot Regional Park is a half-hour west of Livermore in Castro Valley. The campground has 75 sites for RV trailers and tents. Standard sites feature picnic tables, fire pits and electricity hookups. The campground features such amenities as bathrooms and shower houses, naturalist-led campfire programs, an amphitheater and a sanitary dump station. Centerpieces of the 5,067-acre park include miles of hiking, riding and bicycling trails through grasslands, chaparral, eucalyptus groves and along the shores of Lake Chabot. A marksmanship range is operated by the Chabot Gun Club. The Chabot Equestrian Center is nearby, as is the 18-hole Willow Park Golf Course and restaurant.
