Campgrounds Near Santa Clarita, California

Santa Clarita, is just outside of the Los Padres National Forest and less than an hour's drive from the Pacific ocean. There are dozens of campgrounds to choose from in the area and many have stunning landscapes and plenty of things to do. Whether your passion is hiking or relaxing with a fishing pole, camping in the San Clarita area has something for everyone.
  1. Camp Williams Resort

    • Camp sites are private and secluded at Camp WIlliams Resort

      This little known campground is a gem located in the majestic San Gabrial Mountains. Campers can pitch a tent right on the fork of the San Gabrial River or rent one of the RV sites nestled snugly under huge trees. Hiking, swimming and fishing are popular at the resort as is panning for gold in the river or surrounding streams. There is a cafe and store for camper use, showering facilities and restrooms, and plenty of privacy for you to enjoy. The park offers a wonderful camping experience for families and is close to other area attractions such as Dodger Stadium and Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.

    Leo Carrillo State Park

    • Beach activities are popular at Dockweiler Beach R.V. Resort

      This campground is unique to say the least. Less than a half hour from Santa Clarita, the Leo Carrillo State Park campground is next to the mile and a half beach where visitors can examine the tide pools, or explore the reefs and caves. Hiking, fishing, swimming, and boating are also popular activities for guests. The campground is shaded and close to the camp store in the park. Sites are available for primitive camping and RVs. Campers may only stay seven consecutive days in the park at one time to allow others an opportunity to enjoy the park. Camp sites have electric, water, picnic tables and grills, and a bathroom facility and showers are nearby. Reservations should be made as early as possible to ensure good site selection.

    Dockweiler Beach R.V. Resort

    • This mid-size campground is just a short drive from San Clarita and is strictly an RV park. They are pet friendly with a fenced dog area and well kept paved sites. The campground offers restroom and showering facilities, picnic tables at all sites, electric and water hookups, and is handicap accessible. Each camp site has a grill and picnic table for guest use and beautiful views of the beach. Campers can enjoy beach activities, swimming, salt water fishing, hiking, and boating. Dockweiler Beach RV Park is a popular destination with local residents and travelers, so guests should make reservations well in advance.
