Campgrounds in Carmel, California

Carmel, on California's central coast, is an area offering a number of nature-based attractions. Scuba diving, birdwatching, whale watching, hiking, surfing and swimming are all popular activities along the rocky beaches and shores. Sea otters, harbor seals and gray whales can be seen from Point Lobos Reserve, 2 miles south of Carmel.
  1. Carmel by the River RV Park

    • Carmel by the River RV park lies alongside the Carmel River. Amenities include Wi-Fi, cable TV, water and sewage. Both 30- and 50-amp setups provide electricity. Recreation offers include a lounge, arcade, billiards, ping-pong tables and air hockey. A small general store is located in the office. The park is pet and family friendly.

    Veteran's Memorial Park

    • Halfway between Carmel and Monterey, the Veteran Memorial Park has sites for RVs under 21 feet and tents. There are no RV hookups at the park. The park is pet friendly. Communal showers and bathrooms are available. Sea kayaking and hiking are available, among other activities. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is 10 minutes from the park.

    Saddleback Mountain Camp (Carmel Valley)

    • Saddleback Mountain camp lies near the Carmel River and Los Padres National Forest, providing patrons the chance for entertainment on the river or hiking and backpacking through the Ventana Wilderness. There are accommodations for tents, RVs and tent cabins. Tent sites are "walk in," meaning that you might have to hike to reach some of them. Amenities include flush toilets, showers and a heated pool.
