Alternately known as "The Gateway to the Colorado River" and "The Colorado River's Best Kept Secret," Needles, California, has a quaint small-town charm. The city was founded as a railroad town in 1883, and even today its population density is much lower than that of California's coastal cities. Located near the borders of Nevada and Arizona, Needles is a convenient stop for several days' exploration.
Located on Historic Route 66, the Needles KOA offers travelers the stability of the KOA brand, yet the privately owned franchise avoids the feel of a large corporate park. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming, always eager to provide advice or assistance.
The park can accommodate even the largest RVs with sites up to 90 feet in length. All RV sites are pull-through. Most sites offer full hookups with your choice of 50 amp or 30 amp electric service. Sites without sewer connections are available at a reduced rate. Tent sites offer 20 amp electric service and water. All sites have shade trees and picnic tables. Wireless Internet service is available for an additional fee.
A small café serves breakfast and dinner for reasonable prices. Firewood and propane service are available for a fee. The swimming pool is open year-round and a full schedule of activities is provided.

Popular with families and young singles, Moabi Regional Park is often crowded, particularly on weekends and holidays. The campground is divided into two sections, one near the majority of park activities and the other on the park's peninsula.
The park offers beach access, swimming, fishing, canoe rentals, horseback riding trails and sports courts. A putting green is available within the park, and an 18-hole golf course is just a short drive away. Restroom and shower facilities are provided in the campground. The on-site marina has a small general store.
Some campsites provide full hookups, while others offer only water and 30 amp electric service. Tent sites are located in a separate grassy area, although tents can also be pitched along the peninsula. All sites have picnic tables, fire rings and grills. No wireless Internet service is provided.
