Campgrounds in Englewood, Florida

Englewood is located between Sarasota and Fort Myers, Florida on the Gulf Coast of Mexico. The nearest airport is Sarasota Airport, which is about a 45 minute drive north of Englewood. This coastal community is home to five different beaches. Weather varies from month to month. Daytime summer temperatures can reach 90-degrees, while evening temps can dip into the low 70's. During the winter months, the high temperature during the day is typically in the low 70's, and overnight lows dip into the 50's. August is the wettest month with the most rainfall. April is the driest month. If you plan on camping in Englewood, there are a couple of RV parks in town. If you are interested in tent camping, you will have to travel a little outside of Englewood to a small island.

    • Brook to Bay Residents Cooperative Incorporated is a 55 and older community that allows RV camping. There are 12 RV spots available for rent. All rental fees include water, sewer and trash pick-up. While staying here, you can also use the heated pool, laundry facility, marina and clubhouse located on site. Since this is such a small park, it's recommended that you call ahead for availability. Pets are not allowed at this facility.

    Cayo Costa State Park

    • Cayo Costa State Park is located just outside Englewood on Cayo Costa Island in Boca Grande, Florida. This state park is open year round and is only accessible by private boat or passenger ferry. You can pitch a tent and stay overnight at Cayo Costa State Park. If you plan your trip early enough, you can reserve a rental cabin or cottage for your overnight stay. Cayo Costa State Park is surrounded by miles of beaches, pine trees and wild birds. Take a swim, go fishing or walk along the hiking trails while staying at Cayo Costa State Park.

      To make ferry reservations, you can reach Tropic Star of Pine Island at (239) 283-0015. The ferry leaves from Pineland, Florida on Pine Island. Reservations are required and ferry fares vary.
