Big Tree RV Park is located near numerous lakes, national parks and other attractions. Turner Pond and Lake Bethesda Park in particular provide all the swimming and fishing one might desire. Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve is a short drive at 17 miles away, and Cumberland Island National Seashore is just 23 miles away. Numerous wildlife management areas, state parks, state forests and conservation areas also dot the map near Big Tree.

Pecan Park RV Resort is another popular site near Jacksonville International Airport. With 183 sites featuring full hookups, Pecan Park is nearly as large as the Flamingo Lake property and includes many comparable amenities such as a swimming pool, meeting room, laundry, barbecue grills and catfish pond. Though it is missing the attraction of a lake, it is located next to Pecan Park Flea and Farmers Market, several golf courses and the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
