There are at least 60 Las Vegas hotels featuring pool areas for guests. Many of these pools have at least some semblance of a tropical look. According to Vegas.com, most Las Vegas hotel and resort pools are open only to resort guests unless a special event or party is being held.
The Flamingo Las Vegas Resort pool area is housed within a 15-acre tropical retreat. It features three separate pools that interconnect through lagoons and around a cascading waterfall. The pool area also features a seasonal waterslide. Lifeguards are on duty along with pool attendants who provide complimentary towels and lounge chairs to guests.
Near the pool area and inside the tropical retreat are the Beach Club Cafe and Poolside BBQ. Pool hours vary by season. The pool closes in late fall and reopens after the winter. There is no admission charge for the pool area Mondays through Thursdays but an admission fee applies Fridays through Sundays. Cabanas with a wide range of amenities can be rented for varying rates.

Mandalay Bay's pool area features an 11-acre tropical man-made beach comprised of 1,700 tons of imported sand from California. Visitors can choose from three different pools, two of which are heated, and a lazy river to float along. According to Las Vegas Direct's website, Mandalay Bay's large wave pool contains 1.6 million gallons of water and produces waves up to 6 feet high.
Adding to ambiance are tropical looking plants, a waterfall and fountains. Beach Concert Series events are held May through September. Pool hours vary by season and only one of the heated pools is open year round.

The Mirage Las Vegas Resort's pool area is styled in a Polynesian tropical island theme. It features two pools, waterfalls, palm trees, lagoons, three waterslides, more than 1,000 lounge chairs and a1/4 mile of artificial shoreline. The Mirage pool and whirlpool are heated and open year round.
Surrounding the pool area in the resort's tropical garden are the Paradise Cafe and Dolphin Bar. Here swimmers can relax while enjoying tropical-style drinks.
