Airports Near Vero Beach, Florida

Vero Beach's unique location between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River has earned it the nickname "Velcro Beach" -- visitors never want to detach from its tranquil white sand shores. Flying directly into Vero Beach is impossible unless it's on a private plane, but you can use the nearby international airport in Melbourne.

    • The city of Vero Beach owns and operates a local municipal airport in town, but there are no commercial flights arriving or departing. Charter flights and private planes fly in and out of the Vero Beach Municipal Airport, and it's also used to store aircraft.

    Melbourne International Airport

    • For a commercial flight, the closest airport to Vero Beach is Melbourne International Airport. It's about 30 miles north of Vero Beach. Fly nonstop on daily US Airways flights from Charlotte and Delta flights from Atlanta. From those hubs, you can catch a flight to or from anywhere in the world. Baer Air also uses Melbourne International Airport for flights to the Bahamas.
