Archer is a small city in Central Florida, but its close proximity to the major metro areas of Gainesville and Ocala makes it a viable alternative for some air travelers.     • Located 15 miles northeast of Archer, Gainesville Regional Airport has regional flights to larger hubs in Miami, Atlanta and Charlotte. The airport also serves general aviation traffic through the airport's fixed-base operator, University Air Center. In addition, several charter airlines and a helicopter company are based at the airport, offering local services, maintenance and flight instruction.

      Gainesville Regional Airport is the largest airport near Archer. It operates has two asphalt runways--7,504 feet and 4,158 feet in length--which can accommodate larger jets. The airways surrounding Gainesville are Class D during daylight hours when the control tower is in service.

    Williston Municipal Airport

    • Originally an Army airfield during World War II, Williston Municipal Airport is now a city-owned general aviation airport. The airport operates two runways: A 7,000-foot concrete runway and a 4,330-foot asphalt runway. It is the second-largest airport in the Archer area.Although Williston Municipal is not tower controlled, the airport does offer other aircraft services, including hangars, tie-down service, aircraft sales and repairs.

    Flying Ten Airport

    • Flying Ten Airport is a public airfield located seven miles north of Archer city center. The airport operates a single turf runway. Fuel and tie-downs are also available on-site.As of 2009, Flying Ten averaged 82 aircraft operations per day, mostly for general aviation traffic. In addition to single-engine planes, several helicopters and an ultralight are also based at the airfield.
