Baltimore, Maryland Inner Harbor Tourism

Baltimore's Inner Harbor is one of the most popular and most-visited areas of the city. Located on the Chesapeake Bay, the Inner Harbor has been one of the busiest ports in the United States since the 1700s and is now the cultural center of the city of Baltimore.

  1. Shopping and Dining

    • Harborplace and the Gallery, located on the waterfront, features 120 shops and restaurants, as well as outdoor entertainment during the summer. There is an abundance of restaurants throughout Inner Harbor, many of them featuring fresh Chesapeake Bay seafood. One block from Inner Harbor you'll find Power Plant Live, a diverse collection of restaurants and nightclubs surrounding a plaza, where there is often live entertainment.

    Museums

    • Inner Harbor is home to a number of museums. The Maryland Science Center features an IMAX theater and planetarium. The National Aquarium's exhibits present 16,000 animals including sharks, dolphins and tropical fish, as well as a walk-through rain forest. The Sports Legends Museum is next door to Camden Yards and has 22,000 square feet of interactive exhibits regarding sports history. Port Discovery Museum is dedicated to children ages 2 to 10 and is comprised of three floors of hands-on, educational exhibits. The Baltimore Maritime Museum allows visitors to tour a number of historic ships.

    Sports

    • Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, and M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens, are each a short distance from Inner Harbor.
