The Inner Harbor is a well-known area by tourists of Baltimore, Maryland. Located on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay, the location grew in popularity and increased in revenue after Oriole Park at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, opened in 1992 just blocks away. The National Aquarium in Baltimore is one of the largest of its kind on the east coast. From the outside, visitors see a large pyramid of steel and glass. The USS Constellation is a retired battleship that was used in the United States Navy from the Civil War through the 1940s. The ship was fully restored in 1999 to its appearance and function from the Civil War era. Tours are self-guided with audio clips detailing the construction and contents of each section. The children's program teaches about living conditions on the ship during Abraham Lincoln's presidency. Several other historic American vessels can be toured around the same area of the Pier.

Cruises are available throughout the Inner Harbor allowing guests to tour the area by boat. For short trips, Fort McHenry is a popular nearby stop where guests can learn about the historical significance of military harbor point during the War of 1812. Tour guides will point out key areas and explain the story behind the city of Baltimore. Lengthier rides can consist of a high-scale sunset dinner to a tour of the inlets of the Chesapeake Bay.

Shopping is also widespread and offered with a variety from recognizable apparel brands to local gift shops.
The observation deck of the World Trade Center in Baltimore is noted as the best place to get a full view of the city and the harbor from above. The viewing area on the 27th floor is at the top of the world's largest pentagonal structure. Visitors also have the opportunity to visit the attached museum that chronicles historical city events and its famous residents.
