Fish and other wildlife will entertain adults and children alike at the National Aquarium. The venue offers many exhibits, including some on jellyfish, dolphins, amphibians, birds and fish. The aquarium also offers daily educational shows in the Immersion Theater. The aquarium also tries to educate visitors about ways to help environmental conservation efforts.
According to its website, the Port Discovery Children's Museum was ranked among the top five children's museums in the United States by Child Magazine. The museum offers three floors of educational and interactive exhibits and is targeted toward 2- through 10-year-olds. Children can experience life on a farm by exploring an interactive exhibit in which they can brush a real horse tail, milk a cow and plant vegetables. Children can also play at Harvest Hill, where they can learn to buy and sell products at a play roadside market. Other features include the Royal Farms Convenience Store, where young visitors can learn how to make healthful food choices and stock and scan various foods.
The Maryland Science Center features a rooftop observatory, where visitors can view stars and cruise around on Segways while exploring the exhibits. The center offers a Demo Stage, where you can watch shows and witness chemical reactions, combustion reactions, optical illusions and static electricity. The Science Center also has an IMAX Theater that screens 3D shows.
