When visiting Ireland, there is no need to worry about activities for the kids to enjoy. From parks to enchanted castles, children are able to explore Ireland and see things native to the Irish culture. Children can enjoy Irish shows and visit learning centers created specifically for them.
  1. Lough Key Forest Park

    • Located in Rockingham, Lough Key Forest Park caters many of its events and exhibits to families with children. There are tours created for families visiting Ireland that showcase the natural beauty of the countryside. Lough Key offers a Boda Borg, or Swedish puzzle room, where children ages 7 and up can work their way through a series of puzzles and mazes using skill building and teamwork. The Adventure Play Kingdom is a padded outdoor play area for children who want to let loose in the park. Equipped with slides and swings, children can play in this safely enclosed area while parents take a break.

    Imaginosity

    • Located in Dublin, Imaginosity, is a hands-on museum for families and targets children aged 10 and under. Art classes and building workshops are offered daily and change with the seasons. Imaginosity's permanent exhibits include Rapunzel's Castle for children to play in and the Eco Badger, which is featured on the roof and teaches children about the importance of living "green." Special events are offered for school-aged children and toddlers. Reservations should be booked in advance online.

    The Chocolate Warehouse

    • The Chocolate Warehouse, located in Dublin, is a kid friendly attraction centered around the creation and eating of chocolate. Children are given the opportunity to throw on an apron and step up to the decorating table where they are allowed to decorate and create their own chocolates. There are tours available of the factory and children get to see how the chocolates they eat are made. After children experience the creation of the chocolates they are able to box up their masterpieces and take them home to enjoy. A gift shop has candies to purchase, along with bears and gifts for the whole family. Each event and tour is approximately two hours long, and reservations are recommended.
