Those on a budget can enjoy Bass Pro Shops without spending any money, though. Children will enjoy the large aquarium at Bass Pro Shop. Also, craftsmen have demonstrations available for children to watch, such as glass carving. The store features several wildlife displays with real stuffed animals and real-to-life exhibition surroundings. The Regal Cinemas at the Town Mall of Westminster, located in Carroll County, Md., offers free children’s movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, June through August. The movies start at 10 a.m. Each day features a new film, although the featured titles are not new releases. On Tuesdays, the cinema features a G-rated movie, and on Wednesdays older children can enjoy a PG-rated movie.

Moms and dads interested in meeting other parents and engaging their children in creative play and active learning will enjoy Mommy and Me and Daddies, Too. The event is in two locations for parents’ convenience: the Congressional Plaza and the Rockville Town Square, both in Rockville, Md. During this event, stores in the different centers have specials for parents, along with crafts, prizes and sing-alongs for children. Both locations also have lunch specials at their venues. The Rockville Town Square location meets from 10 a.m. to noon every third Tuesday of the month. The Congressional Plaza location meets from 10 a.m. to noon the second Thursday of the month.
