      The sites are a minimum of 22 feet by 60 feet in size, and all have full electric, water and sewage hookups available. Most of the sites have side-by-side hookups, however, which reduces the amount of space between vehicles for side-out camping. Free wireless Internet is accessible near the campground office and the recreation center. On-site amenities include restrooms, showers, a sewage waste dump and laundry facilities.

      The RV park operates a store that sells basic groceries and firewood. The nearest restaurants are around 30 minutes away in downtown Julian. The closest gas station is also in this area and closes early; plan refueling accordingly.

      Butterfield Ranch Resort RV Campground has three heated swimming pools, three hot tub, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, hiking and cycling trails, and a playground on the property.     Bernardo Shores RV Park

    • Bernardo Shores RV Park is on Highway 75 in San Diego County's Imperial Beach. The campground consists of 124 recreational vehicle campsites, of which 25 are consistently available for short-term, overnight stays rather than seasonal rentals. All of the campsites are back-ins with full, brick patios and are a minimum of 35 feet by 45 feet in size.

      Each of the short-term sites has full electric, water and sewage hookups. Wireless Internet is also accessible for an additional fee. The campground has a laundry facility available for guests and offers propane tank refills. No restrooms or showers are available on the property.

      The campground's location is less than two miles from attractions like the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve and Dunes Park, a beachfront, public area that is home to a statue by well-known marine artist Robert Wyland. Within less than a minute from the campsite, travelers can find a variety of restaurants, including fast food, a sushi bar and Mexican restaurants. The nearest gas station is about one mile away. A public bus stop is located in front of the campground and can bring guests to the activities in town.

      Bernardo Shores RV Park has a putting, chipping and driving range on-site. The campground also organizes barbecue dinners and potlucks throughout the year. An activity room is located on the property with a book exchange area. Pets are welcome at the RV park.

    Champagne Lakes RV Resort

    • Champagne Lakes RV Resort is in Escondido along Nelson Way. The campground has 90 recreational vehicle campsites, all of which are back-ins. The minimum size for the sites is 18 by 40 feet.

      Sixty-nine of the campsites offer hookups for electricity, water, sewage, telephone service and cable television. The remaining 21 sites offer only water, electricity and cable television connections. The campground also offers restrooms, showers, a sewage waste dump, mobile sewer service, public telephones and a laundry facility on-site. An on-site store sells propane and basic groceries.

      The resort is less than four miles from both the Deer Park Winery & Auto Museum and the Lawrence Welk Resort Golf Course. Fast food and sit-down restaurants and the closest gas stations are within a 15-minute drive of the campground. A small deli with homemade hot foods and cold salads is also located at the campground.

      Eagle Lake and two smaller lakes are adjacent to the campsite for freshwater, catch-and-release fishing. Champagne Lakes RV Resort also has a swimming pool, horseshoe pits and a playground. Pets are welcome at the resort for an added fee.
