With a population of just under 8,000, the city of Burlington, Washington, boasts several golf courses, outlet shopping and a selection of restaurants. While the city has not shown tremendous growth recently when it comes to eateries, a couple of new restaurants have popped up over the past five years and more may be in the works in the near future.

    Sakura

    • Sakura prepares Japanese cuisine hibachi-style.

      If you are in the mood for sushi, head to Sakura Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar. The restaurant opened just under two years ago. Here you will find sushi and Hibachi style cuisine, meaning the food is cooked right in front of you. The entertaining atmosphere also offers cocktails.

    Railroad Plaza

    • Burlington is working toward funding for construction of a new city plaza.

      While Burlington, Washington lacks a wide selection of new restaurants, more may be on the way. According to the city of Burlington, efforts are in the works to fund a gathering spot downtown. Railroad Plaza would include a new welcome center, venues for community events and potential business development, which may include new restaurants.
