Ocean City is located on New Jersey’s eastern Atlantic shore; approximately 80 miles south of the state capital at Trenton. Originally settled as a whaling base and cattle grazing area in the early 18th century, Ocean City began to prosper as summertime resort destination in the late 1800’s and remains as such today.
